This online workshop will address the complexities involved in being a multiracial family.

Have you thought about adopting transracially? Are you currently parenting a child of a different race? This online workshop will address the complexities involved in being a multiracial family. The presenter will discuss racial development in children and how to address and support this growth. Topics covered will include examining your current life circumstances to help you think about whether transracial adoption is a fit for you. For families who are currently parenting a child of a different race, we will cover how to best deal and respond to microaggressions you may face as a multiracial family when in public. Finally, the presenter will discuss how to talk about race with your child and examine biases that may get in the way. This workshop will be rooted in both academic research and personal experience.
