About Selena Graham
Before becoming an educational advocate, Selena Graham began her career in marketing and later earned her master’s degree in special education, pursuing her passion for helping children succeed. As a special education teacher, she saw firsthand how important it is for families to understand their child's learning needs, ask informed questions and have a strong voice in educational decision-making.
Today, Selena Graham brings that experience to her work with families at JF&CS. She helps parents make sense of an often complicated special education process, understand evaluations and educational data, prepare for and participate in IEP meetings, and consider whether their child's current services and placement are meeting their needs. Where appropriate, her work can also include helping families navigate decisions about in-district, out-of-district, specialized or residential educational placements.
Her approach is collaborative. Selena Graham works to build bridges between families and schools, particularly when communication has become difficult. Her goal is not only to advocate alongside families, but also to help parents better understand their child's needs, their options and the special education process so they feel increasingly confident advocating for their child.
Selena has been an incredible support for my son. She stood her ground, she fought for what was right, and she never backed down when it came to his needs. She asked the hard questions, the detailed questions—the ones that really made people stop, think, and re-evaluate the choices they were making. Her dedication, persistence, and genuine care made all the difference.
