At JF&CS, Lori Shaer chairs the Advisory Committee of the Center for Early Relationship Support, co-chairs the Nominating Committee, and sits on the Center for Basic Needs Advisory Committee. She always enjoys volunteering at Family Table when her schedule permits. She is a big sister through Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters and serves on their Camp Scholarship Committee. At CJP Lori co-chaired the Women’s Philanthropy Embrace events for 2024-2025. She is an active member of Temple Beth Shalom and served on the Board of Trustees for seven years. Lori earned a degree in Television, Radio, and Film Production from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her professional career involved working in news production in New York City, then children’s television at Sesame Street, and ultimately co-launching a children’s production company, Little Airplane Productions. Lori and her husband, Jon, live in Needham and have two young adult children. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, snow and water skiing, seeing any musical theatre production, and traveling with her family.
