Board of Directors


Edward Feinberg is a retired retina surgeon and former professor and chair of ophthalmology at Boston University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health. Ed completed his residency and fellowship at University of Michigan Hospitals. He has served on the faculties of the University of Tennessee, Harvard Medical School, and Boston University School of Medicine. Ed has received numerous teaching and service awards, including being named Clinical Educator of the Year by the BUSM Class of 2012. From 1972 to 1974, he served on active duty as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. 

Ed serves on JF&CS’s Human Rights Committee, which helps affirm, promote, and protect the human and civil rights of individuals with disabilities served by the agency’s residential and day programs. 

Ed lives in Newton with his wife, Ruth Ann, and their two standard poodles, Jasper and Molly. He enjoys sailing, hiking in Acadia National Park, bicycling, cross-country skiing, and spending time with his granddaughter, Sydney. He is the proud father of three adult children.
