Dementia Friends is a global movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia.

Developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, Dementia Friends is spreading across the globe, and is now available in the USA. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, each of us can make a difference for people who are living with dementia and the people who care about them.

To increase public awareness of dementia and reduce stigma, JF&CS is making the international public awareness program Dementia Friends available in Massachusetts. Dementia Friends is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia.

JF&CS is leading Dementia Friends in Massachusetts by training volunteer Champions who use Dementia Friends materials to offer hour-long information sessions in their community. Participants in these friendly and interactive Sessions will increase their understanding of dementia and think about the small things that each person can do to make a difference for people affected by dementia in their community. No action is too small! For information about trainings, including the 2022 Synagogue Initiative supported by the Lebovitz Family Charitable Trust, please contact Beth at bsoltzberg@jfcsboston.org
