News & Event
When: Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Online, via Zoom video conferencing.
About the Open House: Join us for a virtual dessert break to learn about TeenSafe, JF&CS Journey to Safety's response to dating abuse in our community. Teens in the program first learn how to recognize controlling and abusive behavior in a dating relationship and how to respond if they see, hear about, or experience it. After the initial training period, the group undertakes community-awareness efforts, including running workshops for other teens, creating educational materials, and participating in national awareness-raising campaigns.
TeenSafe has a strong emphasis on leadership development, and teens who participate can earn community service hours. We have a lot of fun, eat great snacks (when we can meet in person), and have a significant impact on the safety and wellbeing of our community!
Please join us via Zoom to hear more about TeenSafe from our TeenSafe Fellow, Samantha Walsh, LCSW. Samantha will talk about how rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders can join the 2020-2021 TeenSafe Leader Cohort and what teens do as Peer Leaders throughout the year. Applications are open.
RSVP: To sign up, please email Samantha at swalsh@jfcsboston.org. The Zoom link will be sent to those who register.
