JF&CS provides employment-related support and training and volunteer opportunities to adults with disabilities through our CHAI Works! And Mitzvah Team programs.

CHAI Works!
CHAI Works! expands personal growth opportunities for individuals with disabilities by partnering with Jewish and other community organizations to provide employment, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment programming.

Not only does CHAI Works! match consumers with appropriate employment or volunteer opportunities, but CHAI Works! also provides on-the-job support to ensure a positive work experience for both the consumer and the employer. Additionally, through ongoing educational and skill-building workshops on topics such as personal care and employee/employer relationships, individuals will gain the skills they need to be successful. CHAI Works! helps all clients, regardless of their past work experience, advance along a path to work readiness.

Mitzvah Team
The Mitzvah Team offers individuals an avenue to become productive, participatory members of society, and to increase feelings of self-worth and confidence through volunteerism. JF&CS provides a variety of opportunities for clients to volunteer their free time and talents to Jewish community organizations, and other organizations in need. The Mitzvah Team offers clients with disabilities opportunities to experience self-satisfaction and pride in their personal achievements. A crucial element of the Mitzvah Team project is educating the overall community by showcasing the value of people with disabilities in volunteer settings.

The valuable experiences our clients have while volunteering will enhance skills in the workplace, in the communities and during activities of daily living
