New American Services assists refugees during their initial adjustment and provides ongoing support in helping individuals and families adapt to a new culture, obtain citizenship, and build a connection to the Boston community. |
Our Programs Include
Refugee Resettlement Program
Offers assistance to new immigrants with social, educational, vocational, medical, and economic needs. The program is ongoing in our Waltham office and in Lynn.
Citizenship Assistance Program
Assists in the naturalization process starting with Green Card processing.
First Friends
Matches volunteers to families recently arrived from Russia and the Newly Independent States.
Russian Community Services
- Provides information and referrals.
- Offers support and assistance for New American single-parent families through the Single Parent Initiative.
- Offers case management, information, and referral services for elderly New Americans through the Helping Elderly Access Resources (HEAR) Program.
Russian Teen Program
- Offers support, acculturation, socialization, and integration services for the New American teen population in Brookline and Brighton.
- The program is ongoing in Brookline High School.
- Boston-Haifa Teen Connection offers "Putting Israel on the Map" program, bringing together Russian-speaking teens from Haifa and Boston.
