Your Donation Makes a Difference

Carol* is a 39-year-old married woman with a three-year-old son. During her child’s delivery, she suffered a stroke and has been on disability ever since. Earlier this year her husband was laid off from his job. The couple’s current combined income covered their mortgage and car loan debt, leaving less than $200 for all other needs. Carol contacted JF&CS Family Table because she had begun utilizing a local food pantry, but could not get kosher food there. Within seven days of her inquiry, we were able to process her application and get her approved for our food pantry. Additionally, we connected her with our Center for Family Assistance, which is now working with her on additional emergency needs including buying prescriptions for her son.

Carol is not alone. Each month, Family Table delivers food to 550 individuals – 60% more people than we to delivered in 2008. Across the board, from services for the elderly, to low income families, new moms, and individuals with Parkinson’s, our programs are touching more people than ever before.
