I was asked to visit Thelma in one of the nursing homes where I conduct our Home/Assisted Living Shabbat and Holiday Program.

Jim and I were stuck like glue for seventeen years. We made it through the deaths of my father, his mother, then my mother, and celebrated several family weddings and births.

For many of us, the holidays can be a potentially challenging time. Instead of anticipating joyous family celebrations, the grief surrounding the death of a loved one may evoke feelings of loss, yearning, and sadness.
