 Last week I had the pleasure of attending White Ribbon Day, an event that brings men together to pledge to help end violence against women.

 On Thursday, March 1, all men are called upon to stand up and take action against the domestic abuse against women.
|
 I write from a perspective of privilege and safety. I am a white male, having never victimized by violence.
|
 Much progress has been made in the movement to end violence against women, yet we still have a very long way to go.
|
 Courage is something I think about everyday. It takes courage to help a friend in need even though they don’t want it.
